On March 12th, citizens gathered at Children’s Hospital’s MERC Auditorium to hear the personal stories of Hamilton County Commissioner Chris Monzel and Cincinnati City Councilman Wendell Young. They discussed their childhoods, their upbringing and people who significantly influenced them and helped inspire their interest in the political life.

The audience laughed and listened intently as two experienced and dedicated public servants answered personal questions that unveiled influences that helped form their social and political values.

One thing they clearly had in common was early recognition of a call to public service.
