On November 11th, citizens gathered at Mount Saint Joseph University to hear the personal stories of United States Congressman Steve Chabot and Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley. They discussed their childhoods, their upbringing and people who significantly influenced them and helped inspire their interest in the political life.
They joked about campaigning against each other when in the 90’s Cranley challenged Chabot for his 1st Congressional seat.
The audience listened as these two public servants, who both grew up on Cincinnati’s west side and attended catholic schools, explained the early formation of their very different political and social priorities.
One thing that became very clear was their dedication to public service.
