Panelists from left to right: Tim Burke, Chip Gerhardt, Howard Wilkinson, Chip Mahaney, Kevin Aldridge, and Ronna Schneider.

Our first event of 2017 at Hebrew Union College explored the role and responsibility of the media in what has been called an “alternative facts” age in reporting. Exploring First Amendment rights, free speech, fake news, and the media’s responsibility in fact checking and reporting, our panel made up of three media representatives (Kevin Aldridge, The Enquirer, Chip Mahaney, WCPO, and Howard Wilkinson, WVXU) sat alongside University of Cincinnati law professor Ronna Schneider, Tim Burke, chair of the Hamilton County Democratic Party, and Chip Gerhardt, Republican Representative to the Hamilton County Board of Elections.

For the first time, our event was made public online thanks to HUC’s livestream capacity. Click here to watch a recording of the event.
