On January 28th, citizens gathered in the Hebrew Union College Mayerson Room to hear the personal stories of University Presidents Santa Ono and O’dell Owens. They discussed their childhoods, their upbringing and people who significantly influenced them and helped inspire their interest in the public life.

The audience laughed and listened intently as two experienced and dedicated public leaders answered personal questions that unveiled influences that helped form their values and their priorities in education.

One thing they clearly had in common was early recognition of a call to public life.
